- Smallest eagle owl.
- A desert owl distributed throughout much of Northern Africa and the Middle East.
- Nests on rock clifs, gorges, pyramids and mountain slopes.
- Eats crustaceans, spiders, scorpions, birds, reptiles and mammels.
- Captive bred by Stephen Schabel at the Center For Birds Of Prey, Charleston, SC.
- Flew in the summer of 2012 at Jonathan Wood's "Raptor Project" Flight Show in New York.
