Raptor Releases & Rescues

These first three photos show a male Red-tailed hawk which was found on the west bank of the Mississippi River. He was unable to fly and was cold and wet. An Audubon Zoo veterinarian treated him and I kept him for a month while he recovered his strength from a pellet wound. He was released Nov. 3, 2009 at Audubon park where other raptors have been seen.

Photo four shows the release of a Great Horned Owl in May, 2010 and photo 5 shows the owl high in a tree.

Photo 6 shows a Bald Eagle which was reported down in a marsh in St. Charles parish. Unfortunately, the eagle had expired by the time rescuers arrived.
